A Case of “Anaphylaxis” to NovoSeven in a Hemophiliac Patient

Anaphylaxis is a life-threatening emergency that may be confused with other less serious conditions. The onset of true anaphylaxis typically occurs within minutes following exposure to an offending agent, and it can variably include dyspnea/wheezing, hemodynamic compromise, rash, hives/pruritus, swelling, or gastrointestinal symptoms. absence expected association between exposure(s) classic symptoms should lead the consideration alternative diagnoses. Here, we describe course patient hemophilia B who developed stridor wheezing after recombinant factor VII, NovoSeven, tranexamic acid (TXA) for management hematomas. Due reported prior history multiple replacements, patient’s initial included NovoSeven steroid/antihistamine prophylaxes close monitoring epinephrine at bedside. Despite administration prophylaxis, significant stridor, was treated nebulizers additional steroids, transferred intensive care unit. There, pattern followed by continued two days until respiratory condition predictable stable. subsequent clinical transfer general medical ward not consistent anaphylaxis.
